Which Aeriol Nicols Have You Bought & Sold With? I have been in the real estate business for over 26 years. To be precise it is 27 years on July 11thof 2004. That is a very long time.
When I began I never dreamed I would still be selling homes. As a child like most kiddies I was going to be something that was special to me. In my case it was a world famous Ballerina…… I would go to the ballet… get backstage and collect autographed copies of dancers ballet shoes and hang them in my room. How things change. So 27 years later and looking back I have a chuckle about my youthful fantasies. Instead I stayed Home, Created a Family and built a Real Estate Practice. I am very fortunate that I still have many of the very first customers that I worked with 2.5 decades ago. I have had the privilege of moving them up from their starter homes to family homes and in some cases large special homes. There has been the occasional sad breakup and sideways moves to condos or little homes and some have simply left town, the province or even the country.
Almost three years ago I moved to Harvey Kalles R.E. Ltd. To extend my business and to forge some new ground. Many of my old clients were a little concerned. They would make little jokes about "all those big houses you're selling now" and " I guess you won't want to do these little ones anymore". Well big houses are great. We all love to have the opportunity to work with a truly outstanding property and I am no exception. However, Referrals and Repeat business have always been and always will be the backbone of my business. More than 80% of my business each year is forged from My long Standing Client Base and Their Referrals. I feel very Privileged. I have since moved on to Sutton Group recently in order to have the necessary space to build a small team. Allowing me to offer better service to my clients and have a little more time for myself. After all I deserve the best and so do You. Recently (last 4 years) my clients are now starting to send me their kids. Some of them have just dubbed me "Mom". Since I am not 50 yet I have a good laugh. The Kids are sending me their friends. I am three- four generations deep in some cases. The younger generation buys those "little homes" and starter condos. So I have a continuing cycle of demand for them. Some of my older clients are starting to make changes….. Smaller homes, Country properties, have one home or condo here and another in a vacation destination. Some are buying "the big one" that special final home. The cycle of our lives is fascinating and always stimulating. I have convinced some of my clients based on my example to buy income producing properties as part of their retirement plans. This is an excellent way to create a future income for those like me not adept at stock markets or that don't have great corporate pensions. I have made an endeavor as a realtor to keep ahead of all of the new technology available today and this is something that my customers are real keen on. The younger clients see it as the only way to go and my very busy mature clients love the ease of it. Although I no longer work seven day weeks ( that was my first 5 Years in the business) and I take more time off, with my 800 # services, web sites and e-mail, my business can now run 24 hrs. per day whether I am there or not. . I find as I get older this actually allows me to be far more affective than I ever was 25 years ago.
